Help

WITH THE care system at the forefront of the public's minds, as it creaks under the weight of an ageing population, lack of funding and staff and the devastation wrought by a global pandemic, a hard-hitting new drama, Help starring two of Britain's most respected actors Stephen Graham and Jodie Comer, focuses on life in a care home during the early, dark days of Covid 19. This powerful film explores the moving bonds between carer and resident, and the struggle they must face in this unimaginable and unknown world.

Penned by BAFTA award-winner Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials, National Treasure) and directed by BAFTA-winning Marc Munden (The Third Day, Utopia) the drama is set for release on DVD on 11 October 2021, from Acorn Media International, following its transmission on Channel 4.

Set in a Liverpool care home, we meet Sarah (Jodie Comer) (Killing Eve, Doctor Foster), who, after many years of struggling to find work, has found her calling at Bright Sky Homes. Instantly connecting with the residents, she forms a special bond with Tony (Graham - Save Me, This is England), who is in his late 40s, with Early Onset Alzheimer's. Sarah feels like she finally fits in and has a purpose, and the residents feel like they have someone that truly cares.

Then in March 2020, the Coronavirus pandemic hits, and everything is thrown into disarray. Unprepared and ill-equipped, Sarah and her colleagues fight tooth and nail to keep their vulnerable inhabitants safe, but it seems they've been all but abandoned by the powers that be.

A determined Sarah goes to extraordinary lengths to protect those in her care, whose conditions make their suffering and isolation even more traumatic. But the staff's unwavering commitment, compassion and heroic efforts can only do so much, and Sarah is pushed into a dark corner, as she desperately searches for a way out.

CODE 404 SERIES 2 AND CODE 404 SERIES 1 & 2 BOX SET

TWO BRITISH acting greats and Line of Duty allumni Stephen Graham and Daniel Mays, the ultimate acting dream team, return for a second hilarious series of Code 404 , that sees them taking a detour from serious drama to tackle the buddy cop genre... like never seen before. This side-splitting sci-fi, cop-show mash-up takes things to a whole new dimension.

Following its run on Sky Comedy, Code 404 Series Two arrives on digital alongside the Series One and Two Box set on 11 October 2021, from Acorn Media International.

Picking up where series one left off, series two brings Detective Inspectors Roy Carver (Graham - Line of Duty, The Irishman) and DI John Major (Mays - Temple, Good Omens) back together for more comedy capers, criminal-catching, and a 20-year-old cold-case which throws the pair straight into action. The AI-driven Major struggles with the pressures of an impending divorce from his wife (Anna Maxwell-Martin - Motherland, Line of Duty), the return of his long-lost father, and strange glitches. Much to DI Carver's concern, Major's problems seem more serious than something a quick reboot can solve, and are likely signs of his AI failing. It looks like the dynamic duo are in for even more trouble than before...

The new series features brand new characters alongside the raucous returning cast, British comedian Meera Syal (Broadchurch, The Kumars) is Elizabeth Churchland, and Clive Russell (Game of Thrones, Ripper Street) stars as John's father Clifford Major.

In the first series we meet DI Carver and DI Major, the top crime fighting duo in the Met's Special Investigation Unit. When an undercover sting goes horribly wrong, Major is gunned down on the job and killed. How will the SIU function without him? Well, it doesn't have to.

As an 'asset' considered too valuable to lose, his body is fast-tracked into an experimental Artificial Intelligence project to bring him back from the dead. The only problem is, Major 2.0 may look like and sound like the original, but something has been lost in translation - his crimefighting instincts have completely deserted him. Somehow, Major's error-strewn hunches and Carver's scrambling to make good allow them to just about scrape by. Not to mention in the year since his death, Major's wife has moved on, and her new boyfriend causes Major some major problems...

Get ready for your upgrade with Code 404 , a rollicking Robocop romp.

Britannia

THROAT SLASHING, drugged-up-druids and plenty of romping - Britannia returns to rule TV. Capricious Celts and ruthless Romans march back onto our screens for a third series bringing with them oodles of gore, game and gusto.

Olivier award-winning playwright Jez Butterworth continues to merge fantasy and fact in his hallucinogenic historical series. Recently returning to Sky Atlantic, Britannia Series III comes to DVD from Acorn Media International on 15 November 2021, alongside a Series I - III Box Set.

The fightback against the Roman Empire, which stands at its mightiest, is on the horizon. Aulus (David Morrissey - The Missing) is joined by his wife Hemple (Sophie Okonedo - His Dark Materials) who arrives to oversee his conquest of the Britons, bringing with her mysterious and dark forces. Cait Cait (Eleanor Worthington-Cox - Gwen) continues her journey to becoming the prophesied "chosen one" and Mackenzie Crook's 10,000-year-old Druid leader Veran is set to head down into the underworld for a glimpse of the future. As competing factions feud, whose prophecy will be fulfilled, and who edges closer to ruling Britannia?

The original series kicks off in 43AD, as Roman General Aulus Plautius, arrives in Britannia, determined to conquer what Julius Caesar lost to the dastardly Druids 90 years earlier. He leverages rivalries between Celtic tribes: the Regni led by Queen Antedia (Zoe Wanamaker - Harry Potter), and the Cantii led by elderly King Pellenor (Ian McDiarmid - Star Wars). There are greater forces at work as Cantii royal siblings Phelan (Julian Rhind-Tutt - Harlots) and Kerra (Kelly Reilly - True Detective) vie over their right to the throne. High Druid Veran (Mackenzie Crook - Detectorists) summons spirits with gruesome rituals to achieve his own ends, while chosen one Cait seeks to fulfil her own prophecy with the help of demon-possessed madman Divis (Nikolaj Lie Kaas - The Killing).

The second series follows two years later, as the feud between Romans and Celts deepens, rebellions are stirred amongst the Celtic tribes, and an epic battle between the two Druid brothers puts everyone at risk...

Bring on the battle Britannia style, there will be blood... lots of it.

The Beatles and India

When the world's most famous band The Beatles made their seminal trip to India in 1968, not only did it inspire a new musical direction for the band, it paved the way for a brand new sound that still resonates across cultural and musical landscapes to this day.

Now a new, award-winning feature documentary The Beatles and India from Silva Screen Productions and Renoir Pictures explores the lasting legacy from their ground-breaking visit to Rishikesh. It sheds light on how India shaped the development of the greatest ever rock band and their pioneering role in bringing together two vastly different cultures.

This unique historical film chronicles the enduring love affair between The Beatles and India that began more than half a century ago. The Beatles and India follows a rarely seen, fascinating time in John, Paul, George and Ringo's career and brings it to life with archive footage, recordings and photographs, alongside eye-witness accounts, expert comments and visually stunning location shots.

In 1968 the legendary band brought their Western celebrity circus to a remote Himalayan ashram in Rishikesh in search of spiritual enlightenment. What happened next had a profound effect on the whole band... and the whole world.

Inspired by Ajoy Bose's book, Across The Universe - The Beatles In India, British Indian music entrepreneur Reynold D'Silva has taken the amazing saga further by producing Bose's directorial debut. Bose and cultural researcher, co-director, Pete Compton, have created an audio-visual presentation that stands apart from the many documentaries on the band, delving deep into the most crucial period of their evolution from the world's most famous pop stars into multi-faceted pioneering musical artists.

The documentary won Best Film Audience Choice and Best Music in Tongues On Fire, the 2021 UK Asian Film Festival, where it premiered earlier this year.

An accompanying album, Songs Inspired By The Film The Beatles And India performed by Indian artists and the score album will be released on Silva Screen Records on 29 October, along with a DVD and Blu-ray release of the film from Cherry Red.
