Grace Of My Heart

Featuring a dazzling stellar cast, a stunning soundtrack and Martin Scorsese as executive producer, Grace Of My Heart hits all the right notes as it charts the inspirational story of a female singer-songwriter's struggle to make her mark in the dynamic American music scene of the 1960s and 1970s and comes to UK DVD for the first time ever. Inspired by the life of Carole King this wonderfully nostalgic and exuberant 1996 feature film runs in parallel to King's life and career and is released on DVD on 12 October 2015, courtesy of Odyssey and coincides with the Broadway hit Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, currently showing in London's West End. Set at the time when prodigiously talented singer-songwriters were fighting for recognition in a tough, male-dominated music industry, Grace Of My Heart traces the 'long and winding road' to stardom of Denise Waverly (Illeana Douglas - Six Feet Under), whose songs bring fame to other people - until she finds her own voice.

3 1/2 Minutes, Ten Bullets

Two cars. 10 bullets. Two lives irrevocably changed. All within 3 1/2 Minutes. The tragic tale of 17-year-old Jordan Davis and an argument over loud music from a car containing a group of black teenagers, that escalated in a flash into shots being fired is told in 3 1/2 Minutes, Ten Bullets.

The fallout of the senseless killing and the subsequent trial of middle-aged white man Michael Dunn is charted in this riveting documentary released in cinemas on 2 October 2015 by Dogwoof.

Awarded a Special Jury Award at Sundance 2015, 3 1/2 Minutes, Ten Bullets directed by Marc Silver (Who Is Dayani Cristal?), is an unflinching look at racism and violence in the USA and how it impacts ordinary families and young black lives. Blending police interrogation footage, real-life courtroom drama, reconstructions of the incident in a garage forecourt alongside moving and intimate interviews with Jordan Davis' parents, the film tells this powerful tale looking at the local implications and its effects on the families and a community. But it also tells a wider story about racism, prejudice and the search for justice within the American judicial system.

The Hourglass Sanatorium

Wojciech Has' cinematic universe of byzantine sets, hallucinatory images and galleries of grotesque characters is brought to life in his pychadelic masterpiece The Hourglass Sanatorium. Adapted from a collection of short stories by Polish-Jewish writer Bruno Schulz, and funded by the Polish Arts Council, this beautifully re-mastered edition dispenses with traditional narrative, fashioning an audiovisual mosaic that blurs the line between reality and fantasy. Set in the pre-World War II era, a young man named Joseph (Jan Nowicki - Tulips, Spirala) visits a strange dilapidated Sanatorium to see his dying father Jakob (Tadeusz Konrat - Adventure in Marienstadt, Zawilosci Uczuc). Upon arrival he finds a hospital crumbling into ruin, where time is slowed down in order to maintain his father's life signs. Joseph must venture through the many rooms of the sanatorium, each filled with sinsiter worlds conjured from his memories, dreams and nightmares.
