The Affairs of Susan

Nominated for an Oscar in 1946, The Affairs of Susan is a thoroughly entertaining romantic comedy starring Academy Award winning movie icon Joan Fontaine (Rebecca) in the title role. The film arrives on DVD for the very first time in the UK on 21 March 2016 thanks for Simply Media.

New York actress Susan is about to marry businessman Richard Aiken (Walter Abel - Holiday Inn), a man she has only known for a few weeks. But the wedding may be called off when Richard decides to hold a party to celebrate and invites three of Susan's former beaus. Each man recalls his experiences with Susan and every one has an entirely different impression of her personality! One describes her as a naive country girl who reluctantly becomes an actress, another paints a picture of a fun party girl and the third describes a serious intellectual. But which one is the real Susan?

Occupied

From the makers of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and best-selling author Jo Nesbo comes the new Nordic sensation, political suspense thriller Occupied (Okkupert). Currently screening on Sky Arts as its top rated programme, this action-packed hit drama arrives on Blu-ray and DVD courtesy of Dazzler Media.

Set in the not so distant future where climate change has brought Europe to the brink of war, Henrik Mestad (Lilyhammer) stars as environmentally friendly prime minister Jasper Berg. He has convinced his voters that the best way to tackle climate change is to halt all oil production in Norway, sending the country and the rest of the world into crisis.

Unable to ignore calls from the rest of the world to intervene, Russia, at the behest of the EU, stages a 'silk-glove' invasion - to secure the oil for the rest of the world. They have, they say, every intention of retreating once this has been accomplished. But it's not long before events unfold that threaten to change everything.

Based on an idea by Jo Nesbo (Headhunters), this gripping, multi-layered 10-part series examines what happens to a nation under occupation, and explores the themes of loyalty to oneself, one's family and one's country. It comes to Blu-ray and DVD as Occupied Season 1 on 21 March 2016.

Helmed by Star Trek Director Joseph Pevney and starring Stephen McNally (No Way Out), James Best (The Dukes of Hazzard) and an appearance from Golden Globe winner Rock Hudson (Giant), this gripping aviation drama from 1951 makes its UK DVD debut on 21 March 2016 from Simply Media.

Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict

In the late 1970s, American art icon Peggy Guggenheim gave what was to become the last interview of her life for Jaqueline B. Weld's authorised biography Peggy: The Wayward Guggenhein. The tapes were long thought to be lost.

Now the never heard before footage has been discovered and forms part of a fascinating feature documentary about the unbelievable life of one of the most vibrant figures in modern art. Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict comes to DVD and VOD on 22 February 2016 courtesy of Dogwoof.

A colourful character who was not only ahead of her time but helped to define it, Peggy Guggenheim (1898-1979) was an heiress to her family fortune, who became a central figure in the modern art movement. As she moved through the cultural upheaval of the 20th century, she collected not only art, but artists.

Her colourful personal history included trysts, affairs and marriages with such figures as Samuel Beckett, Max Ernst, Jackson Pollock, Alexander Calder, Marcel Duchamp as well as countless others. While fighting through personal tragedy, she maintained her vision to build one of the most important collections of modern art, now enshrined in her Venetian palazzo.

Directed by Lisa Immordino Vreeland, this thoroughly engrossing and often moving documentary is a compendium of the greatest 20th century art, mixed with the wild and iconoclastic life of one of the most powerful women in the history of the art world.
