World War Two 1941 and the Man of Steel

In World War Two 1941 and The Man of Steel, due for release on 8 August 2016, Reynolds examines Josef Stalin's handling of the conflict between the Soviet Union and Germany during the Second World War. The name Stalin means 'man of steel', but Reynolds' penetrating account reveals that the man himself was anything but.

Releasing to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Operation Barbarossa, the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, Reynolds reveals how the dictator's mental frailties nearly caused his country to fall to the Nazis, and examines the compromises Stalin was forced to make to survive. He also investigates the events that led to Stalin eventually siding with the Allies, including Winston Churchill's controversial visit to Moscow in 1942.

Travelling to the sites of the main battles and using original telegrams and official documents, he re-examines how Britain and America were drawn into alliance with Stalin, a dictator almost as murderous as the Nazi enemy.

Author: The JT Leroy Story

In the mid 1990s a new wunderkind appeared on the literary scene, and took the world by storm. JT LeRoy (Jeremiah 'Terminator' LeRoy) was a young writer, from a very troubled background, with tales of abuse, prostitution and a life on the streets. This fascinating new voice started making waves with articles appearing in magazines such as Nerve and Shout NY and when his first novel Sarah was published in 1999, and he began to make public appearances, his fame ascended at a rapid pace. The showbiz world took LeRoy into their fold, and everyone wanted to be seen with the "it" person of the moment...

But all was not what it seemed.

In 2005 New York magazine's October issue sent shockwaves through the literary world when it unmasked JT LeRoy, whose tough prose about his sordid childhood had captivated icons and luminaries internationally. It turned out LeRoy didn't actually exist.

Now a brand new film from Jeff Feuerzeig (The Devil and Daniel Johnston) Author: The JT LeRoy Story, which arrives in UK cinemas on 29 July 2016 from Dogwoof following its UK Premiere at Sundance London on 4 June 2016, takes us down the infinitely fascinating rabbit hole of how one woman -like a Cyrano de Bergerac on steroids-breathed not only words, but life, into her avatar for a decade. This epic and entertaining account plunges us into a glittery world of rock shows, fashion events, and the Cannes red carpet where LeRoy becomes a mysterious sensation. Finally the person behind the enigma recounts an astonishing odyssey.
