The Hound of the Baskervilles

For generations the Baskerville family is believed to have been cursed by a diabolical killer hound that prowls the fog-shrouded moors of their estate.

When Sir Henry Baskerville is found dead, the great detective Sherlock Holmes embarks on his most famous case in The Hound of the Baskervilles (1983) with the loyal Dr. Watson (Donald Churchill - Zepplin) by his side.

In this classic tale of murder and deception in the eerie English countryside, Sherlock will need all his skills of deduction to unravel this haunting mystery and the legend of the hound.

The film has been given a brand new 4K restoration and will make its debut on Blu-ray alongside a DVD release, with newly commissioned artwork by Graham Humphreys. The film stars renowned actor Ian Richardson (House of Cards) as the iconic detective, and will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, download and on-demand on 25 April 2016 courtesy of Second Sight.

The Sign of Four

A young woman desperate for help enlists the aid of Sherlock Holmes and his assistant Dr. Watson, this time played by David Healy (Labyrinth) in The Sign of Four (1983).

Drawn in by her intriguing tale the game is afoot and they begin to delve deeper into the case of a missing army captain in India, secret pacts and a king's ransom in stolen jewels.

All the while they must keep Mary Morstan (Cherie Lunghi -Excalibur) safe as they are all shadowed by a mysterious peg-legged man and his dangerous associate.

Bad Sister

Hollywood icon and two-time Oscar winner Bette Davis (Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?), features in her first ever film role in this thrilling family saga, Bad Sister (1931).

Naive Marianne Madison (Sidney Fox - Midnight) is bored with her routine life and falls for dashing con artist Valentine Corliss (Humphrey Bogart - Casablanca), who uses their relationship to get her father's endorsement on a money-raising scheme.

Following their wedding night in a sleazy hotel, Valentine abandons Marianne and she returns home to beg forgiveness from her jilted fiance Dick Lindley (Conrad Nagel - All That Heaven Allows), only to find he has turned his attention to her shy younger sister Laura (Davis).

Back to God's Country

The inimitable Rock Hudson (Giant) stars in this action-packed drama from 1953 based on a story by respected adventure writer James Oliver Curwood.

Helmed by Star Trek director Joseph Pevney, Back to God's Country is set in a small village in the icy wilderness of Alaska, where schooner captain Peter Keith (Hudson) and his wife, Dolores (Marcia Henderson - All I Desire), prepare to set sail with their precious cargo of furs.

When a ruthless businessman, Paul Blake (Steve Cochran - White Heat) and his associate Frank Hudson (Hugh O'Brian - Twins) conspire to keep Keith's boat in dock until the weather becomes too foreboding to leave, Peter and Dolores must embark on a desperate expedition to escape the isolated region.

Cattle Drive

Shot in Death Valley, California and Paria, Utah, Cattle Drive is an atmospheric coming-of-age adventure story from 1951, directed by Kurt Neumann (The Fly) and starring Joel McCrea in the lead role, alongside Chill Wills (Giant).

Chester Graham Jr. (Dean Stockwell - Quantum Leap), the spoilt teenage son of a wealthy railroad owner manages to get himself lost in the middle of nowhere. He is found by Dan Mathews (McCrea) a cattle herder on his way to San Diego. As they head toward civilisation together, the youngster is forced to knuckle down and accept the fatherly guidance of Mathews, who teaches him the value of hard work and upstanding behaviour.

The Children of Green Knowe

When his father and stepmother leave the country for Christmas, young Toseland (Alec Christie - The Office) is doomed to spend the holidays at his boarding school, until his eccentric great-grandmother, Mrs. Oldknow (Daphne Oxenford - Coronation Street), invites him to stay with her at The Green Knowe estate, an 11th century house built by Normans. While she tells him stories of his ancestors, Toseland soon finds out not everything is what it seems, when he begins to see the spirits of children who lived in the house during the reign of Charles II.

Originally screened in 1986 but never released on DVD, The Children of Green Knowe is a charming and mystical classic children's mini-series adapted from Lucy M. Boston's novels. BAFTA winner Colin Cant (Moondial) directed the series, alongside BAFTA winning producer Paul Stone (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe). It makes its DVD debut on 28 March 2016 courtesy of Simply Media.
